What Francisco "Paco" Guerrero sees

Dear diary,

I love looking at photographs. I love how it tell stories. I love how it open your eyes to new perspectives. I love how it captures that one moment... that special moment.

Ah! The wonders of one photograph can make. I could go on and on and on you know but i'd rather not. So instead, let me just introduce to you my new found IDOL. :)

Meet Mr. Francisco "Paco" Guerrero.

Francisco Guerrero was born in manila to Spanish-Filipino parents in 1975. His father works in the hotel industry and as a child the family lived in Manila, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Spain. His initial interest in photography started on hot summer day when at the age of 12 he borrowed his father’s camera and took pictures of chickens the family had in their backyard.
Since 2002 Francisco has been working for a number of clients including Conde Nast, New York Times Travel, Marie Claire, Destinasian, GQ, and Endless Vacation among others. Locally he has worked for Town and Country, Marie Claire, Runners World and Rogue. Onrequest Images and Wonderful Machine currently represent him in the US.
I first saw his work through his TV show What I see and since then, I fell in love with photography all over again.
Disclaimer: I'm not a photographer but someday, I intend to be one. So you see, this blog is written in a perspective of person dreaming big. :)

He is my IDOL. Idol = someone I look up to. Why? Just because. Nah! I'm just joking. :)) I look up to him simply because his photos have souls. Creepy! IKR. He don't just take "the shots", he makes his photos come alive. Gets? (Kahit ako naguluhan eh. -_-" bompbompbomp ) Basta, he make sure that it's not just about clicking the shutter.

Okay, enough said. I'll let his works speak for himself. Unfortunately, his TV show just aired its season finale episode this morning. #BUMMER So for the mean time, while we wait for season 2 here's a list of websites you can visit to see his portfolios. Enjoy!
Speaking of... before I end this post let me just share to you my kilig moment!! HAHAHA

Walaaaa Laaaaaaaang. :)) Fan na fan lang peg ko.

His selection of best images from season 1 of What I see.

And here's the What I See Series Trailer.

Someday, I will capture beautiful things with my own lenses.

Clicking away,
Joy

"The Week That Changed The World" by Bo Sanchez

Deary diary,

I love Bo Sanchez. I love how he writes. I love how he share stories based on his own experiences. I like how I feel inspired and enlightened after reading his articles. He's that other person that sheds light on complex religious queries I have aside from my loved ones and The Big Guy up there.

By the way, do you know who Bo is? Bo Sanchez is an author, entrepreneur, preacher, and lay evangelist here in the Philippines. I knew him since I was in highschool reading his magazines (Kerygma) and books and now I receive his Soulfood email and daily Bible readings and reflections. How cool is that? :D

And since it's the Holy Week, Bo prepared something for us. It's a special Holy Week TV show titled "The Week That Changed The World" filmed in Jerusalem, Israel.

Catch the show at these schedules:
 - ANC: April 6 (Friday) 6:00 pm
              April 7 (Saturday) 1:00 am
 - TV5: April 7 (Saturday) 7:00 am
 - IBC 13: April 8 (Sunday) 8:00 am
 - TV Maria: April 7 (Saturday) 8:30 am
 - Cable Link: April 6 (Friday) 7:00 pm
 - MLL: April 7 (Saturday) 7:00pm
             April 8 (Sunday) 4:30/9:30 am
 - Zoob TV: Holy Monday to Easter Sunday

Something to do while reflecting.

May God bless us all,
Joy
